The Scarab Salve’s actions are two-fold: to assist with tissue regeneration and skin repair in the form of soothing irritated skin, assist in healing stings, minor burns, eczema, abrasions, redness and scars; as well as acting at the deeper tissue, ligament and bone level by promoting healing of sprains, bruises, fractures and broken bones.

The heroine of this salve, Comfrey, also goes by the common name “knitbone”, which highlights the potential of this healing herb to not only heal at the surface level of this skin, but also deep into the body’s tissues and bones. The allantoin content in comfrey is one constituent that has the ability to repair damaged cells and produce new ones.

Comfrey is complimented with Plantain, commonly referred to in Australia as the “bush bandaid”, used for wounds and insect/spider bites. The formula is brought together with the herbal queen of everything skin - Calendula.

50ml

Ingredients: Dried Comfrey leaves (Symphytom officianale)^, Plantain leaves (Plantago lanceolata)#, Calendula blooms (Calendula officinalis)*, Australian Olive Oil*, Nambucca Valley beeswax.

[*Organic, ^Homegrown, #Wildcrafted]

The Scarab Salve is made using folk herbalism methods based primarily on the extraction of the medicinal constituents of the plants into the menstruum of olive oil. This process involves the rehydration of the dried herb using alcohol. The alcohol is removed from the product when heat is applied during the salve making process.

This product is hand made and is chemical free. There are no synthetic preservatives, petroleum products, essential oils or artificial fragrances in this product.

If taken care of, this product’s shelf life can be up to two years (and even beyond). Protect from light, heat and moisture exposure to preserve this product’s medicinal constituents and shelf life.

Scarab Salve os the only thing that soothes my sons sensitive skin after swimming lessons. It also saved me when I broke out in a mysterious auto immune rash all over my torso earlier this year. I had it for months, used steroids and all sorts but then slathered myself in your magical offering and it disappeared!

Tonight my husband hurt his finger catching a ball and it was throbbing, bruising and swelled up immediately. I asked him if he needed help and the first thing he said was “knit bone” referring to your Scarab Salve. My heart was glowing when he said this, incredible that through sharing plant medicine with him, that this is now his default, instead of Panadol or something similar. Thank you for making beautiful medicine for our family.

I got the Scarab Salve because my daughter and I don’t have great wound healing but I have been using it as a pimple spot treatment and it rocks!!! I’m sure that’s not what it’s for but it works

My little boy has eczema. I explained that we were getting some cream from a lady named Lou who used plants to make healing creams and he was SO excited. When it arrived he treated it like it was pure gold. Every time we use it he makes sure the flower is placed back on top. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I was chatting with a friend and she mentioned the name Lou. My son was playing nearby and he yelled out “oh I know Lou she made my cream for me.” You are reaching places in the world that you never knew so thank you.

Lou’s Scarab is an absolute game changer for bites! I’ve had two mystery spider bites recently and it’s helped the swelling and itching massively. The Scarab or Calendula Salve is constantly asked for by my little boy for any sores, itches, cuts or sore bottoms. It works so well he even asks for it if he has a sore tummy!

I’ve been using the Scarab Salve on my wrists, which sometimes hurt after a day of screen printing. I’ve definitely noticed it helping me.
