Hi, I’m Lou - Mother, herbalist and textile artist living in the subtropics of Australia on the unceded lands of the Gumbaynggirr people.
The herbal medicines I share here are the product of stepping into the lineage of a long line of humanity. There was a time when home herbalism was the norm and plant wisdom was held by many in the community. I’m walking the plant path to recover and claim some of this knowledge as my own and to share it with my family and community.
My intention is to take healing and connection to Mother earth into my own hands. Sovereignty, connection and empowerment through my embodied approach to plant medicine has increased my experience of life-force, and I hope that feeling of radiance and aliveness is felt in my offerings.
This is the first time in my life I am intentionally learning outside of formal institutions governed by hierarchy and authoritative knowledge that hold claim to credentials and licensure. What I wish to learn and the work I want to do in this space is bedded in learning with and in community, is life-long, and cannot be “certified”. I’m developing a slow and deep relationship with herbal medicine in a personal and embodied way while continuously engaging the experience and teachings of other herbalists locally and around the world.
As a living and growing craft, my offerings will change and evolve as I do - with the seasons of the earth, my life, my cycle and wherever this herbal spiral journey takes me.
This is a small-batch, hand-crafted enterprise pursued with intention and heart. All products sold here are made with local (where possible), organic and high quality ingredients with deep reverence and respect. All plant by-products of my medicine making are composted and returned to the earth where they are made, on the unceded lands of the Gumbaynggirr people - Mid-North Coast NSW, Australia.
