The Rosa Serum harnesses time-honoured folk methods for extraction of whole-plant wisdom into skin loving oils for a gentle and nourishing formula to soothe, repair and protect.

This serum centres around the power of both the fruits and blooms of the rose plant. Woven through many of the worlds’ religions, pagan cultures and myth over thousands of years, rose has been a symbol of love used in practices for beauty, pleasure, ritual, food and healing. Rose as a symbol of courage, strength, adoration and sisterhood remains powerfully embedded in many communities today. The physical qualities of this herb’s gifts harnessed in the Rosa serum include:

ROSEHIP

  • Rosehip contains antioxidants and retinol that can mitigate skin degradation and is a gentle remedy for soothing skin inflammation including eczema and redness. Rosehip is also widely used for maintaining hydration of the skin.

  • Rosehip seed oil is prized as an important plant component for skin health. Its drawback, however, is that it can be expensive and because of the high level of particular constituents, it tends to oxidise quickly which can result in a relatively short shelf life. The whole rosehip (meaning the flesh and the seeds as opposed too the oil from the seeds alone) preserves the fatty acids as well as carotenoids and other compounds within the hip.

ROSE PETALS

  • Rose petals are emollient and help to soothe and reduce redness while protecting the skin from moisture loss.

  • The Vitamin C and flavonoid content help stimulate skin cells and the production of collagen and can minimise scarring and hyperpigmentation.

  • Rose petals (as well as the hips) nurture skin heath through their cooling and mildly astringent nature which may be particularly useful to individuals who have trouble with capillaries.

  • Their antioxidant content can help protect skin from environmental pollutant and toxin damage.

ELDERFLOWER

  • Elderflowers have historically been used in topical applications for their anti-inflammatory compounds to soothe inflamed tissue. I’m lucky enough to have used Elderflowers from mine and two friends’ Elder trees in this formula - a real co-creation of some strong, loving, feminine energies in my life.

The nourishing aspect of rose also operates on an emotional and psycho-spiritual level. The scent of rose medicine elevates our mood, and vibrationally can help us connect/reconnect to our hearts desires when feeling disconected or indifferent. Rose medicine can be a tool to revive our devotion for life. And like other herbs with thorns and sting, rose can also be harnessed as a plant ally of protection for what’s important to us, helping us to maintain supportive boundaries.

Ingredients

Dried whole Rosehip (Rosa canina)*, Rose Petals (Rosa centifolia)*, Elderflower^, Australian Jojoba oil, Avocado oil*, trace amounts vodka. [ *organic, ^homegrown].

Use

The Rosa Serum can be used intuitively anywhere on the body, but it’s specifically designed for use on the face, neck and décolletage. Preferably use on damp skin whenever you feel it could use a little extra nourishment, healing or protection.

For best results, use within first year of purchase. Potency and shelf-life of this product can be prolonged by storing it away from moisture and direct sunlight.

The rose face oil I’ve been using since last shop update and I think it fully healed this spot thing I had on my forehead for months! I even got it looked at by a skin doctor in case it was something and they said no but maybe infected/ could do a biopsy but didn’t feel right and voila magic - been using that n it every day and it’s nearly gone back to normal.
