The sellout offering that started it all! The Breather Balm is made with 100% whole-plant infused organic olive oil, set with local beeswax, and is completely free from essential oils. I wholeheartedly believe in the power and intelligence of whole-plant preparations to support the wisdom of our body’s systems and I still feel nostalgic about this product, which was the catalyst to really start investing in my business.

Breather Balm is a “chest rub” designed to relieve congestion, open up the airway, bring relaxation to tightness in the chest and head and bring comfort and support to a body that is working hard to heal during times of cold and flu.

This formulation contains the herbal extracted oils of:

  • Peppermint and Peppermint Gum - Pungent, aromatic, relaxant diaphoretic herbs to support the opening up of the sinus and bronchia, encourage localised blood flow while relaxing and soothing the nerves as well as smooth muscles.

  • Eucalyptus (Blue Gum) - Perhaps the most well-known cold and flu herbs for relief from sinus congestion and breathing difficulty.

  • Rosemary - Warming, stimulating and restorative. Rosemary disperses stagnant phlegm while supporting the nervous system.

  • Lavender - Both antispasmodic and a relaxant nervine, lavender is a valuable addition to this formula for when illness brings tension headaches, restlessness and insomnia with it.

  • Mullein - A lung healer in more ways than one, this herb can assist in moving stagnancy in the lungs and balance mucus so that it can be readily expelled. Relieves tension and spasm in smooth muscles surrounding the respiratory system and open up airways. Can also relieve excessive constriction in the bronchi and an overly-spasmodic cough reflex (for internal use of this herb, see my Mullein Elixir).

  • Calendula - Not just a skin healer (both inside the body and out), calendula also stimulates blood flow and aids in the flow of lymphatic fluid. This can help when the body is in a state of healing (what we commonly call being sick) and is working to round up and eliminate waste products.

Ingredients

Verbascum thapus^, Eucalyptus globulus^, Mentha Piperita*, Peppermint Gum^, Rosarinus offinialis *, Lavandula angustifolia*, Calendula officinalis*, Australian olive oil*, local beeswax. [*organic, ^wildcrafted/homegrown].

Use

Apply to chest and upper back whenever relief from congestion and laboured breathing is desired. Some of my customers apply it directly to the face along areas where sinus pressure or blockage needs some more direct attention.

This is a warming and stimulating product by design. Patch test on children if concerned about sensitivity and adjust amount used or melt balm in hand and blend with olive oil before application if desired.

Protect from light and moisture to prolong shelf-live and potency of this product.

Breather Balm - a life saver this winter
— Naedene, August 2024
Your chest balm with the lavender was a life saver for me last night with my unsettled toddler. I had nothing to turn to in the night and it worked a charm rubbing some on his temples and chest as usual, as well as his jawline as he’s got molars coming in.
— Amy, July 2024
Breather balm is so damn lush. Smells so good I could wear it as a perfume. I have been putting it on my face and my sinuses feel great for it
— Rhiannon, June 2024
The other day my husbands sinus was playing up and he said can you massage that cream that smells like the earth onto my face please hahaha
— Tanya, August 2022
It’s so nice, I’m still really sick and it’s been a breath of fresh air ... It’s doing wonders ... feels and smells divine. My partners only complaint was that I didn’t buy more haha
— Grace, July 2022
Gonna be slathering myself and the kids in this salve. It’s divine.
— Danni, July 2022
This balm is just divine I feel it’s soothing my nervous system as well ...beyond delicious
